Building Careers That Last
At WEC CCTV, we believe in creating careers that last a lifetime by investing in our people and supporting their development every step of the way.
One of those success stories is Josh, who recently celebrated nine years with WEC Group after beginning his career through the company's apprenticeship scheme.
Josh said:
"I started my career at WEC Group through the company's apprenticeship scheme, completing my apprenticeship alongside a HNC in mechanical engineering. WEC Group then continued to support my development by sponsoring my bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering while I worked within the business.
Since joining WEC Group, I have progressed into the role of Project Engineer, where I manage projects from initial concept and design through to manufacture and final delivery. My role involves designing bespoke products using CAD software, producing manufacturing drawings, organising production, estimating projects, and overseeing them through production to ensure they are delivered to a high standard.
Studying alongside working gave me the opportunity to develop both my technical knowledge and practical engineering experience at the same time. The support provided by WEC Group throughout my education and career development has been invaluable and has helped me progress into the position I'm in today."
Josh's journey demonstrates the long-term opportunities available across WEC Group. Through apprenticeships, professional qualifications and ongoing career development, employees are encouraged to grow their skills, take on new responsibilities and build rewarding careers within the business.
